Participants received RATP wristbands
in 2005 when they pledge to read for fun.

In 2005 the Grand Prairie librarians collaborated to plan a district wide reading initiative. This resulted in the creation of the Read Across the Prairie program promoting reading “just for the fun of it!” The program expanded the following year to the city of Grand Prairie.  On March 1, 2007 the Read Across the Prairie initiative will be recognized on the floor of the Texas House of Representatives thanks to our representative, Kirk England.

Our RATP rocker was beautifully designed and painted by Mr. Dominic, Logan & Alex's dad.

Participants receive a dogtag keychain to remind them to read for fun in the 2006 - 2007 school year.
