My emphasis with children will be to aid in the successful development of the whole child.  This includes enhancing the students' feelings of self-worth, improving their skills in making effective decisions, assisting students in the formation of adequate interpersonal relationships, and helping students utilize their potential in order to be successful in school and in life.

Guidance Curriculum

Students develop their educational potential through skill-based lessons and units that assist in developing competence in essential life skills.
Competency is developed in self-confidence, motivation, decision-making and goal-setting, communication, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, and responsible behavior.

The guidance curriculum is a developmentally based set of lessons that focus on the student's social and emotional needs.  The following titles are subjects that are included, but not limited to, each grade level.

Kindergarten & 1stManners, Safety, Friendship

2nd GradeFeelings, Honesty, Friendship

3rd GradeConflict Mediation, Test Taking Strategies
